A Short History of St. Joseph's Convent School

Jesus Christ is the reason of our school and St. Joseph's Convent School, is lovingly placed under the protection of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus.

St. Joseph's Convent School, TFRI is a branch of St. Joseph's Convent Sr. Sec. School, Sadar which was founded in 1873 by the Indian Province of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery as per provisions of the Constitution of India Part III Article 30 (i).

It is administered by the Sisters of St. Joseph's Convent, Jabalpur in accordance with the general rules governing the above Congregation. It is an English Medium Senior Secondary School for girls affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi. It conducts classes from the Nursery to the Senior Secondary Level.

The School is lovingly dedicated to St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus Christ with its motto "Virtue Alone Ennobles".

St. Joseph, the patron of our School, is called a "Just Man" in Holy Scripture - a man after God's own heart. He was a simple carpenter, hard working, compassionate and available to those in need. He was ever ready to serve. He walked humbly before God.

Every Josephite, teacher and student, must emulate St. Joseph by being a simple, obedient, hardworking woman of faith and courage, to take her place with her counterpart in the world.
